As a rule, I find that it is not worth leaving home to go fishing without berley. Those who have read some of the old fishing books from the 1940's, 50's and 60's know that the same opinion was held even back in those days when the fish were more prolific. Berley is even more important today. I regard it as essential.
My success in using your Tuna slabs as berley was nothing short of phenomenal and the catch rate went up to equal scores not seen since the mid 1970's. It was all the more remarkable because the trial of your Tuna slabs as berley did not begin for me until the very end of our season for 2006.
I will use Tuna slabs all through the coming season. I wonder what the result will be? Perhaps the scores from the 1970's will be surpassed? I will not be surprised if that does happen - given the outstanding result already obtained. That would be Heaven.
